During the fifty years of communism, the building was used as a kindergarten, a jail, a restaurant and a sparkling wine manufactory. The wonderful frescos and stucco ornaments have all disappeared during this time.

The fabulous staircase, which was once decorated with statues and considered to be a marvel to behold, now lays barren and rusted, while the balcony could collapse at any moment.

It is currently owned by the Jidvei Company.
