Nălațvad was in possession of several noble families throughout the centuries, the most important of them being the Naláczy family, originally from Hunedoara county. In the mid-19th century, upon marriage, the Nălațvad estate became the property of the Teleki family. The current castle was probably built in the late 19th century by Teleki György and his wife, Kendeffy Ilona from Râu de Mori. The castle was surrounded by an arboretum. From their three children, Blanka Nalácon married Fáy Viktor in 1888, becoming the masters of the estate in the early 20th century. The construction of the first local Naláczy Mansion happened sometime in the middle of the 18th century, when the stones of an abandoned Franciscan monastery were used in the construction. According to the archives, the two-story building was originally covered with a tall mansard roof, but later its attic windows were demolished and its roof was changed. The castle with a rectangular ground plan has three three-story towers attached to its main block. The one on the main facade is located asymmetrically, so that the one on its left becomes a two axis and the one on the right a three axis surface. The other two towers are located on the sides of the rear facade. The windows located on the ground floor of the main building are unadorned, but upstairs they are decorated with eyebrow arch lintels. Originally all three towers were covered with baroque tower caps, but these were demolished in time and now the towers are covered with simple tented roof. The turrets, still standing at the beginning of the century, located above the roof windows of the main building, disappeared. In the 20th century the farm buildings located behind the castle suffered major interventions and gained their present form.
