In 1486, Celna became the property of the Chapter of Alba Iulia. Since 1690, it was owned by the Teleki family. On 10th November 1784, the population of the village plundered its manor houses and cellars.

The Romanian population settled in the village only in the 17th century, but in 1238 the river of the village was already mentioned under the name of Chylna. The area was taken away from the Saxon settlers and given to the nobles of Bočiar. In 1486, Celna became the property of the Chapter of Alba Iulia. Since 1690, it was owned by the Teleki family. On 10th November 1784, the population of the village plundered its manor houses and cellars. During the reform movement, it was the first place where they attempted to practice crop rotation. First it belonged to the administrative county of Alba and then to Alba de Jos.
